Brett has served as the Whitman County Sheriff since January of 2003 after being elected to the Office of Sheriff. Working in many different capacities within the Sheriff’s Office, Brett has also held the rank of Sergeant, Deputy Sheriff and Reserve Deputy Sheriff dating back over 25 years. Brett currently resides in Pullman with his wife Darcell, to whom he has been married for 30 years. He is also the father of 2 daughters, who keep him busy when not at the office. Brett takes pride in calling Whitman County his home because he grew up on the Palouse, attending all 12 years of his public schooling in Pullman, before continuing on with his education at Washington State University. Brett has many hobbies, and loves the Palouse for the many opportunities this region has to offer. Spending time with his family camping, fishing, boating, running or biking on the areas local trail systems is at the top of his list of things to do when away from the office.
